From space to Ocean
For the 2026 edition of Ocean Days, HKI was commissioned by Agence Solutions and Nomads Surfing to design the scenography and create the event’s main digital content identity at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. For one evening, the iconic venue was transformed into an immersive interpretation of the Ocean, combining scenography, lighting, architecture, floral installations and digital content.

The brief
How do you make people feel the Ocean?
The ambition was to create an environment that could embody the spirit of Ocean Days: raising awareness around the Ocean while offering guests a memorable, poetic and immersive experience.
HKI was brought in to imagine the scenography and develop the digital identity across the different spaces and screens of the event.

The challenge
The Carrousel du Louvre provided a spectacular setting, but also came with significant spatial and technical constraints.
The pyramid could not be covered or used for projection, while certain areas could not accommodate suspended lighting.
The creative approach therefore had to work with the architecture rather than against it, transforming the perception of the space without altering its essential structure.
The project was developed within a particularly tight production timeline: 20 days of production and 24 hours of installation on site.

The creative concept
We imagined the inverted pyramid as the centre of an immersive underwater world like a cenote beneath the Louvre.
Deep blue light became the project's main visual language, creating the sensation of being submerged beneath the surface of the Ocean.
Rather than attempting to recreate the Ocean literally, the concept focused on evoking its depth, movement, transparency and mystery.
The architecture itself became part of the experience.

Scenography
The scenography was designed to transform the perception of the venue through light, transparency, reflection and movement.
Blue lighting immersed the space, while translucent materials allowed light to filter through the installations and create subtle movements reminiscent of water.
Around the lounge structure, a floral installation evoked a coral reef. The flowers became a visual metaphor for the fragility of marine ecosystems, bringing the themes of beauty, life and environmental degradation into the physical space.
Every element was designed to feel connected to the same underwater world.

Digital content
The digital content was conceived as an integral part of the scenography.
Rather than treating the screens as standalone surfaces, HKI created content designed to live within the architecture and reinforce the feeling of immersion.
Across the LED screens, DOOH totems and reception areas, the visual identity extended the Ocean inspired creative language throughout the venue.
The screen was no longer simply a screen, it became part of the space.

Production
Turning the concept into reality required close coordination between creative, technical and installation teams.
Over 20 days of production, the project evolved from the first 3D concepts through multiple iterations to the final installation.
On site, 24 hours were dedicated to bringing the different elements together, testing, adjusting and fine-tuning the experience before the doors opened.
A multidisciplinary project requiring adaptability, precision and constant collaboration right up to the final moments.

The result
For one evening, the Carrousel du Louvre became an interpretation of the Ocean: an immersive environment where architecture, scenography and digital creation came together to support the message of Ocean Days.
A project conceived and produced to transform a remarkable space into an experience while keeping the Ocean itself at the heart of the story.
